The method involves describing all possible configurations using a configuration model, determining a number of requirements for a configuration to be determined, systematically generating all possible configurations that satisfy these requirements, each having at least one associated parameter and automatically determining a solution configuration that optimizes a defined parameter. AN Independent claim is also included for the following: a computer program product for configuring part of electrical energy distribution network and a system for configuring part of electrical energy distribution network.
