Class 87 (2) An injection mould for casting the neck end 24 of a tube onto the preformed body 25 of a tube comprises two mould parts 10, 11, screwthreaded at 17, which are normally held apart as shown in Figs. 1 and 2 by springs 14, but which are forced inwardly to the closed moulding position by upward movement of a member 4 normally held down by springs 5. When member 4 is pushed up by means of a hydraulically-operated member 19, mould parts 10 are pushed up and slide inwardly on cam surfaces 13 formed on the inside of a casing 1; simultaneously a core 22 secured to member 19 rises, carrying with it the tube body 25 and coming to rest in the moulding position shown in Fig. 3, whereupon polyethylene &c. is injected into the mould through port 8. |
