The apparatus (1) has multiple closure elements cooperating with each other to transfer a blow mold between an open condition and a closed condition. Two mold sections are moveable relative to one another between a closed position and an open position. The mold sections are locked together in a closed condition, and a bottom section is moveable relative to the mold sections to close a cavity in a certain direction. The bottom section initiates closing of the mold sections or the locking of the mold sections in the closed condition of a blow mold.
