PURPOSE: A variable capacitance type oil pump is provided to prevent the loss of drive force of an engine and control the amount of oil supplied to a main gallery. CONSTITUTION: A variable capacitance type oil pump comprises a sub chamber(20), a main chamber(30), a link path(22), a first relief line(62), a discharge line(32), a second relief line(64), and a relief valve(50). The sub chamber and the main chamber contain oil pumped by the drive unit of the oil pump. The link path communicates the sub chamber and the main chamber with each other. The first relief line is branched from the link path. The second relief line is branched from the discharge line.
