<p>Process and system for producing electrical energy from fuel, said system comprising:
- at least one metal-air battery (1) producing electrical energy comprising at least one metal electrode (2) adapted to oxidize by chemical discharge reactions of the said metal-air battery (1), at least one air electrode (4) and an electrolyte (3) based on an alkaline aqueous solution contacting said metal electrode (2) and said air electrode (3);
- at least one regenerator (50) adapted to receive metal oxide (40) deriving from the discharge reactions of the battery (1);
- said regenerator (50) comprising a gasification chamber (16) for receiving fuel and converting it into a hot gaseous flow containing CO and/or H 2 ;
- elements for making the said hot gaseous flow to contact the said metal oxides (40) for a time and at a temperature effective to regenerate by reduction and convert the metal oxides (40) into a regenerated metal in liquid state;
- extraction and casting devices (61;62;63;64) for extracting the said molten regenerated metal from the regenerator and casting it in the form of a fresh electrode of a size suitable for allowing it to be received by said metal-air battery (1);
- at least one metal-air battery for receiving said electrode made of regenerated and cast metal.</p> |
