The device i.e. mobile telephone (1), has a primary connector to receive a subscriber identity module (3), and a secondary connector connected with a battery assembly (6) comprising a supply battery. A selector switch switches power supply between the identity module and the battery assembly or between the identity module and a telecommunication circuit (2) based on presence or non-presence of a near field communication module (5) in the battery assembly. The secondary connector has a primary contact connected to a primary contact of the primary connector.
