PURPOSE: A current detecting apparatus using the shunt resistance and an electronic control unit using the same are provided to detect a motor current at low cost and at a high precision using the shunt resistance. CONSTITUTION: An electronic control unit using a current detecting apparatus comprises a driving current supplying part(214), a current detecting part(216) and a micro control unit(212). The driving current supplying unit supplies the driving current to a motor. Using the shunt resistance, the current detector detects the motor current flowing in the motor. The micro control unit controls the driving current supplying part to supply the driving current to the motor. The micro control unit controls the driving current using the detected motor current. The current detector comprises a shunt resistor(310), an operational amplifier(320) and a sampling holding circuit(340). The shunt resistor detects the shunt voltage applied by the load current of the driving current supplying unit.
