PURPOSE: A composition containing uridine and uridine derivative is provided to promote synthesis of hyaluronic acid, glycosaminoglycan, and collagen to prevent and treat scar, wrinkle, aging, gingival disease, atopic dermatitis, and xeroderma. CONSTITUTION: A composition which promoting biosynthesis of hyaluronic acid, glycosaminoglycan, or collagen contains uridine or uridine derivative as an active ingredient. The composition contains sitologically or cosmetically acceptable carrier or excipient. The uridine derivative is uracil, uridine monophosphate, uridine phosphate, triacetyl uridine, tribenzoyl uridine, 5-ethyl uridine, or isopropylidene uridine. The content of the active ingredient is 0.0001-10 weight% based on total weight.
