A knitted netting comprising longitudinal polyolefin ribbons (20) and lateral polyolefin ribbons (18) knitted with said longitudinal polyolefin ribbons (20) on a machine to form a knitted netting is disclosed. When rolled as knitted on the machine, at least one of said lateral polyolefin ribbons (18) of said knitted netting has an actual length more than 110% of the length of a calculated schuss length for said knitted netting and said rolled knitted netting exhibits reduced lateral shrinkage upon elongation and/or an enlarged width upon wrapping, relative to netting produced from ribbons (18) having the length of a calculated schuss length for the knitted netting.
