PURPOSE: A solid imaging apparatus, a manufacturing method thereof, a driving method thereof, and an electronic device using the same are provided to be applied to the electronic device without a device outer shutter like a mechanical shutter. CONSTITUTION: A substrate voltage source applies a first potential to a substrate in a light receiving period and applies a second potential to the substrate in a non-light receiving period. A light receiving unit(2) is formed on the surface of the substrate and generates a signal charge corresponding to the received light. An accumulation capacity unit(8) is adjacent to the light receiving unit, transmits the signal charge generated from the light receiving unit and accumulates and stores the signal charge when a first potential is applied. A dark current suppressing unit(18) is formed on the light receiving unit and the accumulation capacity unit. An electronic shutter control layer(14) is opposite to the light receiving unit on the substrate and controls the potential distribution on the substrate. A read gate unit(26) reads the signal charge accumulated on the accumulation capacity unit. A vertical transmission register(3) vertically transmits the signal charge read by the read gate unit. |
