The device has a non-linear filtering comprising two nonlinear elements (10, 11) that change bandwidth of a nonlinear low-pass filter according to rising or descend input signal (e). The filter is represented in two cases by filtering of second order based on a transfer function constituted of parameters cutoff frequency and damping. The nonlinear element (10) is arranged in an input of the device and transforms the input signal in size determined by a specific formula constituting parameters such as input signal and gain. An independent claim is also included for a method for attenuating jerks of a motor vehicle.
