<p>#CMT# #/CMT# The method involves circulating gas through acid adsorbing solid (SA1) e.g. faujasites zeolithes X or Y, in order to adsorb a portion of mercaptans (4) in gas and obtain the acid adsorbent solid carried by the mercaptans and the gas debased in the mercaptans. Liquid containing olefin (9) is circulated through acid adsorbent solid (SA3) carried by the mercaptans, so that the mercaptans react with the olefin to form sulfides. Purge gas (15) is traversed through acid adsorbent solid (SA2) in order to evacuate an effluent containing portion of the liquid. #CMT#USE : #/CMT# Method for eliminating mercaptan contained in gas i.e. natural gas (claimed) on a molecular sieve in a natural gas liquefaction plant. #CMT#ADVANTAGE : #/CMT# The method enables utilization of acid adsorbing solid that is regenerated by using the olefin reacting with the mercaptans in the solid, and allows the obtained reaction products to be easily removed by hydrocarbon fluid in the interesting thermodynamic conditions. The method enables utilization of olefin to be chosen in a manner to reduce the risk of oligomerization risk, and maintenance of concentration of olefin in the liquid hydrocarbon charge to compensate the losses during the method is carried out. #CMT#DESCRIPTION OF DRAWINGS : #/CMT# The drawing shows a schematic illustration of a method for eliminating mercaptan contained in gas.
