PURPOSE: A composition containing mixture herb extract is provided to reduce blood glucose, cholesterol, LDL-cholesterol, and triglyceride level. CONSTITUTION: A pharmaceutical composition for preventing and treating hyperlipidemia and diabetic hyperlipidemia contains mixture herb extract of Mori Cortex Radicis, Licii Radicis Cortex, and Dioscoreae Rhisoma as an active ingredient. The composition additionally contains Lonicerae Flos. The mixture herb extract is isolated using water, low alcohol of C1-C4, or mixture solvent thereof. A health food for preventing and treating hyperlipidemia and diabetic hyperlipidemia contains mixture herb extract of Mori Cortex Radicis, Licii Radicis Cortex, and Dioscoreae Rhisoma as an active ingredient. The health food is used in the form of powder, granule, capsule, or beverage.
