PURPOSE: A parking brake for a vehicle is provided, which can be operated with small power because the axis of the rotational plate and the axis of the push rod are arranged in the same line. CONSTITUTION: A parking brake for a vehicle comprises a push rod(550), a strut(500), a rotational plate(600), and a pair of brake pads(400). The push rod transfers the brake pad towards the rotary disk. The strut presses the push rod and is screwed with a caliper housing(200) of a caliper brake. The rotational plate rotates the strut so that the strut moves back and forth by screwing to the caliper housing. The brake pads generate a frictional force by pressing both sides of a rotary disk(900) and are installed in the caliper housing to be replaced in the abrasion of a friction material.
