The diffuser (6) has an air intake opening (11) formed in a hollow plenum (8) and connected to an air blowing or extraction conduit (7). A face (10) is turned towards a room of a building, and equipped with an air diffusion unit (12) for diffusing air from the plenum to the room. The face has an orifice (15) arranged opposite to the air intake opening and allowing insertion of an aspiration unit (16). The orifice is equipped with a removable closing unit comprising a shutter (13) that is rotatably mounted between a closing position and an opening position of the orifice. An independent claim is also included for a method for cleaning a ventilation system.
