PURPOSE: A mobile terminal and a presence information processing method thereof are provided to reduce efficiency and costs for processing presence information. CONSTITUTION: A memory(160) stores a receiving range of presence information set by a user. A display unit(151) displays presence information received from a server. If a presence service begins, a controller(180) receives only the presence information corresponding to the receiving range of the presence information saved in the memory from the server. The controller displays the received presence information on a screen of the display unit.
