PURPOSE: A guard rail for roads is provided to minimize damage to vehicles and human lives by efficiently absorbing impact energy in a collision of the vehicles against the guard rail. CONSTITUTION: A guard rail for roads comprises posts(10), a wire rope(20), and a buffering unit(30). The posts are installed at regular intervals along the road. The wire rope interlinks the posts. The buffering unit extends and contracts the wire rope for shock absorption. The buffering unit comprises a hollow tube which is installed by passing through the post and inserted with the wire rope, a bolt which is fastened with a nut and fixed to an end of the wire rope, and an elastic member which is installed between the nut and the tube. |
