PURPOSE: A multifunctional ruler is provided to be used for covering the solutions of an examination paper and enabling a user to read a book on every line with the ruler to improve concentration. CONSTITUTION: A multifunctional ruler includes one of a timer unit(T), a sound unit(S), a display unit(D), and a document recognition unit(R), and a light emitting unit(L), a control unit, and a body(2) with a scale. The control unit includes a memory(16), and an interface unit for inputting a user command, and a logic unit(14), controls the on and off of the light emitting unit according to the user command, displays time information through a display unit, outputs the aural information of the memory through the sound unit, displays the visual information of the memory through the display unit, outputs the text information of the memory unit as the aural information through the sound unit, and displays the text information of the memory unit as the visual information through the display unit.
