ORGANIC ELECTROLUMINESCENT DISPLAY DEVICE AND METHOD OF DRIVING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic electroluminescent display device shortening time required to input a black image, and to provide a method of driving the organic electroluminescent display device.

SOLUTION: The organic electroluminescent display device includes a pixel part for receiving data signals and scanning signals to express images; a data driving part for generating data for achieving first frames in which general images are expressed, and data for achieving second frames in which the whole screen is expressed in black periodically between the first frames; a scanning driving part including a first scanning driving circuit and a second scanning driving circuit for generation and output of the scanning signals, and a switch part for electrically connecting or intercepting the first scanning driving circuit and the second scanning driving circuit, and driving the first scanning driving circuit and the second scanning driving circuit in parallel to simultaneously generate the scanning signals when the data achieving the second frame are output; and a control part for output of a drive control signal for controlling the switch part.
