<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve additional writing with more improved follow-up property as compared with the conventional art with respect to an image displayed on an optical recording type display medium. <P>SOLUTION: An light pen 10 for performing the additional writing of an image to electronic paper 200 as an optical recording type display medium detects the moving speed of the light pen 10, and controls emitted light quantity according to the detection result so that the optical conductive layer of the electronic paper 200 can be irradiated with energy which is equal to or more than preliminarily set energy. In this case, the detection result can be reflected on the emitted light quantity by detecting the angle of inclination of the light pen 10.
