PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To properly recognize the power supply environment of an image forming apparatus by breaking down the cause of voltage drop, and to properly perform operation corresponding thereto. SOLUTION: In the AC voltage detection part or the AC current detection part of the image forming apparatus, when a voltage or current value exceeds a predetermined threshold when the apparatus is started in a first mode for starting the apparatus, a fixing relay is temporarily turned off, and then the apparatus is restarted in a second mode. Whether a power supply (power receptacle) to which a body is connected is short of capacity is determined. When the capacity shortage of the power supply (power receptacle) is determined, operation of the body is stopped, and the effect is displayed on a display part as a message.
