<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a connector 16 reliably maintaining engagement by a simple operation without direct visual confirmation of an operation of engaging with a mating connector and a state of engagement with the mating connector. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The connector 16 includes a connector housing 50 holding a connector terminal 47. The connector housing 50 has a mating connector-receiving part 52 holding the connector terminal 47 to receive the mating connector and an engagement-ensuring member-inserting part 54, wherein the connector housing holds an engagement lock member 60. The engagement lock member 60 has a permission position permitting reception of the mating connector and a lock position locking the mating connector to maintain engagement of the connector terminal with a mating terminal and engages with the engagement-ensuring member to move from the permission position to the lock position in cooperation with insertion of the engagement-ensuring member into the engagement-ensuring member-inserting part 54.
