<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tape printer which enables a user to print a list of files registered in the tape printer by a simple operation, and to provide a printing method. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The tape printer includes a file registering means 82 which registers each edit data based on inputted information as a file, and a file list printing means 86 which prints at least part of contents of each file as a file list for all of the registered files.
