<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a structure capable of miniaturizing a light source device as a whole while alleviating leakage of microwaves. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The light source device 1 includes a microwave power supply for output of microwaves, an arc tube 10 with a light-emitting space K filled with light-emitting matter emitting light with an input of microwaves, a first electrode 11a fitted at a side of the arc tube 10 with an interposition of the light-emitting space K and electrically connected with the microwave power supply, a second electrode 11b fitted to the other side of the arc tube 10 with an interposition of the light-emitting space K, and an auxiliary wire 30 electrically connected with an end of the second electrode 11b at a side opposite to a side connected to the arc tube 10 and arranged so as to negate part of an electric field generated by the microwaves.
