PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a protection structure of a power control unit in which an adequate protection of the power control unit is achieved when an excessive impact is applied from the outside of a vehicle. SOLUTION: The protection structure of the power control unit has a power control unit (PCU 660) for controlling electric power, an inverter tray 50 on which the PCU 660 is mounted, and a PCU side bracket 62 which is positioned relative to the PCU 660. The PCU 660 has a top section 32, and is supported in a posture that the top section 32 falls over outside of the vehicle in an engine room of a hybrid vehicle. The inverter tray 50 guides the PCU 660 in a predetermined direction when external force is exerted to the PCU 660. Additionally, the PCU 660 has a front face 31a arranged at a side over which the top section 32 falls.
