<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a barrel structure of a writing utensil which enables connection of a forward barrel member and a rear barrel member through a separate joint member without causing looseness, and besides, does not require high precision dimensions in a connection portion. <P>SOLUTION: This barrel structure of a writing utensil is made of the forward barrel member 11 and the rear barrel member 12 connected together in the barrel direction through the joint member 13. The joint member 13 is fitted to either one of the forward barrel member 11 or the rear barrel member 12 in such a state that the joint member 13 can make an inching, and then the other of the members 11 and 12 is screwed into the joint member 13 and brought into contact with the one member.
