OPTICAL FIBER CABLE AND METHOD FOR LAYING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily and efficiently inserting a new optical fiber cable into an electric wire tube where an electric wire, etc. have been already laid therein, without using an inserting tool.

SOLUTION: In the optical fiber cable 1, a long optical element 15 is formed of: an optical fiber 3 formed of one or more optical fiber or coated optical fiber or optical fiber ribbon; at least one pair of tension bodies 5 disposed in parallel with both sides with the optical fiber 3 between them in the width direction thereof; and a jacket 7 covering the outer periphery of the optical fiber 3 and the pair of tension bodies 5. The jacket 7 has a friction coefficient of 0.20 or below and a Shore D hardness of 60 or greater.
