<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent deformation produced in fixing a head suspension assembly to be used for a disk device to a carriage arm with swaging from affecting a head slider. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In the head suspension assembly 10 equipped with a base plate 20 to which a load beam 30 having a slider 1 with a magnetic head attached thereto is fixed, wherein the base plate is fixed to the carriage arm 56 by caulking, an end portion of the load beam on the base plate side is extended to a region beyond a region where a caulking hole 22 of the base plate exists, an end portion of the base plate on the slider side is made to form a notch portion 24 by notching a face opposing the load beam with a predetermined length from an end portion 26, and an end portion of the load beam on the base plate side is fixed to the base plate by welding in the vicinity of the caulking hole.
