<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cleaning device capable of preventing deterioration of a cleaning blade due to ozone, and maintaining the cleaning performance over a long period of time, and to provide an image forming apparatus with the same. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A platinum coating layer containing platinum nano colloid is provided on at least part of the cleaning blade surface pressed to an electrostatic latent image support. The surface of the cleaning blade is thus provided with the platinum coating layer containing a catalyst (platinum nano colloid) for decomposing ozone, so that ozone which deteriorates the cleaning blade is decomposed by the platinum coating layer to prevent deterioration of the cleaning blade due to ozone.
