<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lens cap which does not form a gap between the lens cap and a ring while using upper and lower knobs in common. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A detachable lens cap means 10 for protecting a lens front end surface includes screw engaging means 12 which is provided at a part of an outer periphery and freely expands and contracts in a direction opposite to the radial direction at 180 degrees so as to be engaged with screw parts 34 on the lens front end face, the lens front end surface having a screw of a predetermined nominal designation of thread formed on its inner periphery in order to attach various accessories such as a filter thereto.
