<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a texture anisotropy evaluator and a method thereof giving satisfactory work efficiency with a probe disposition place limited as little as possible. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A longitudinal-wave oscillator 4 is formed into the shape of a rectangular solid and magnetized so that its upper end side has negative polarity while its lower end side has positive polarity. An ac voltage of a prescribed frequency is placed between its upper end face and lower end face by an ac power source AC. Since this voltage-placed state is repeated in a prescribed cycle, tensile force and compressive force shown in arrow directions alternately act on the oscillator 4. Accordingly, the oscillator 4 generates transverse oscillations whose vibrating directions are 0° (x-direction) and 90° (y-direction), respectively, in addition to a longitudinal oscillation (z-direction).
