METHOD FOR PRODUCING A CLOSED COMPRESSOR ROTOR

The invention relates to a method for producing a closed rotor (2) for a radial compressor, in which a wheel disc (1) and a shroud (9) are fastened to each other by means of a joining process. Conventional methods envisage the use of a costly high-alloy base material for erosion-resistant radial compressor rotors. It is proposed to provide the wheel disc and the shroud with a coating (10), at least at the locations that are exposed to great erosion, before the thermal joining operation, and so a base material of lower quality is adequate.
