Provided is a sheet-like illumination device wherein a sheet-like solar cell and a sheet-like surface-emitting element are stacked on a high-capacity sheet-like secondary cell in which the performance thereof is not deteriorated and fire is not caused even if the secondary cell is irradiated with sunlight or the like, and a stable output can be obtained at an extremely low temperature in a cold region. In the sheet-like illumination device, the sheet-like solar cell is stacked on one surface of the sheet-like secondary cell having electrolytes, and a sheet-like surface-emitting element is stacked on the other surface of the sheet-like secondary cell. The sheet-like illumination device is characterized in that the mass of a volatile organic solvent contained in the electrolytes of the sheet-like secondary cell is equal to or more than 0% and less than 10% of the total mass of the electrolytes; and the electrolytes contain an ionic liquid.
