<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a handwriting input system capable of operating a computer in addition to handwriting input without making it necessary to provide any complicate mechanism or increase the number of components. <P>SOLUTION: In a handwriting input system having a reception device 2 for detecting the position coordinates of a pen according to a signal transmitted from a pen 1, and for outputting it to a computer; the reception device having a communication function for transmitting handwriting from the position coordinates of the pen to the computer, wherein software for displaying handwriting data transmitted to the computer operates on the computer, and handwriting is displayed at the display device connected to the computer; one or more grooves restraining the pen top within the coordinate detection range of the pen are formed like a straight line or a curve, and the pen is half-fixed so as to be operated to the direction of the groove, and when the coordinates of the pen are within the predetermined range of the periphery of the groove, it is determined that a predetermined operation to predetermined software has been performed, and manipulated variables to be given to the computer are calculated from the moving direction, moving speed or moving amounts to be obtained from the coordinates of the pen, and the predetermined operation and the manipulated variables are transmitted to the software, and the operation is performed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
