<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem with providing a coin return slot with a cover or a closing plate wherein, although a coin returned will not fly outside, the coin returned becomes less easy to find, leading to the possibility of forgetting to take the coin returned. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A coin-operated device includes a coin sorter mounted on the back of a door of a casing and provided with a reject slot for discharging defective coins downward; a coin return slot provided in the door that opens to the downside of the coin sorter; and a reject cup 20 joining the reject slot in the coin sorter to the coin return slot, the reject cup 20 being secured to the door and being an approximately box-shaped body having an opening that matches the coin return slot and being deep and wide enough to contain the reject slot. The upper surface of the reject cup has a coin drop hole 29 beneath the reject slot. An inclined surface 24b with a face whose perpendicular lines diagonally upward and horizontally backward is provided inside and below the coin drop hole.
