PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic sewing machine which does not create wrinkles or waving deformation, can inhibit a position gap in the sewing direction and perform automatic sewing of the well-doubled fabrics. SOLUTION: In the automatic sewing machine which has a sewing needle 42, a presser member 44, a feeder 48 and a control part and automatically sews doubled fabrics, a tension adjustment member 80 which is located behind the presser member 44 in the feeding direction of the feeder 48, generates tension by pressing the upper cloth downward and makes stretch in the feeding direction is installed.
