The unit (1) has a memory (20) storing control information (22) i.e. script, that specifies a characteristic of a graphical user interface to be provided. A pre-compiling module (30) pre-translates the control information into a binary intermediate code (26). An user interface control module (40) interprets and implements the binary intermediate code to produce the graphical user interface under controlling of a graphical display unit (2) over the interface. The user interface control module is realized on the basis of a micro controller (10).
