<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell system and an operation method of the fuel cell system capable of a proper idling shutdown, while preventing freezing of an offgas piping. <P>SOLUTION: The fuel cell system includes; a fuel cell stack 10 to generate electricity with supply of reaction gas; an offgas piping, through which offgas exhausted from the fuel cell stack 10 passes; an idling shutdown control means to control system idling shutdown; a freezing determination means to determine if the offgas piping freezes or not during an idling shutdown period when and if the idling shutdown occurs; a prohibition means to prohibit idling shutdown when and if the freezing determination means determines on freezing and; a release means to release the prohibition of the idling shutdown by the prohibition means if release conditions for the release of idling shutdown prohibition during the idle shutdown prohibition period by the prohibition means are met. The release conditions are materialized when the current offgas piping temperature is over a release temperature where the offgas piping will not freeze when the idling shutdown occurs later. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
