<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the dielectric constant of a dielectric ceramic containing ABO<SB>3</SB>as a main component wherein A contains Ba and may further contain at least one of Ca and Sr, and B contains Ti and may further contain at least one of Zr and Hf, and contains Si as an auxiliary component. <P>SOLUTION: The dielectric ceramic 11 contains a main phase particle 12 consisting of an ABO<SB>3</SB>system main component and a secondary phase particle 13 having a composition different from the main phase particle 12. A ratio of an Si content in the secondary phase particle 13 is set at ≥40% to an Si total content in the dielectric ceramic 11 and the distribution of Si is more concentrated in the secondary phase particle 13.
