<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a floating caliper type disc brake having a structure capable of sufficiently preventing a caliper 5a from playing for a support 2a using an elastic clip 12a for preventing the occurrence of play even without using the clip 12a having, in particular, a large load, reducing the manufacturing cost of the elastic clip 12a, and facilitating the assembly work for this elastic clip 12a. <P>SOLUTION: In this floating caliper type disc brake, an outer pad 4a is supported on the support 2a by preventing a rotor from being displaced in the radial direction and the peripheral direction. The outer pad 4a and a caliper claw 6a are mutually engaged through recessed and projecting parts to support an outer side end of the caliper 5a on the support 2a by preventing the rotor from being displaced in the radial direction and the peripheral direction.
