PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bacterium-analyzing apparatus and method for accurately and reproducibly acquiring a prescribed number (bacterial concentration) of bacteria, required for an identification-sensitivity test from a culture liquid after culturing the blood, and having high rapidity, accuracy and labor-saving effects. SOLUTION: Bacteria are collected by a collecting jig having an inoculation part having a cylindrical shape or the tip in a net shape or an uneven shape. The bacteria are introduced into the inoculation part by a capillary phenomenon by pressing the jig. In another embodiment, the bacteria are gathered up by rotating the inoculation part. A mechanism for pushing out the bacteria is present at the position offset from the inoculation part, and moves them by a prescribed distance. The offset distance can be changed. A part of the pushing out mechanism can be separated and inserted into a culture liquid in combination with the bacteria. As a result, the bacteria of the accurate and reproducible prescribed number (bacterial concentration) can be obtained. The automatically microorganism-analyzing apparatus capable of reducing the labor can be provided by installing a mechanism for automating them. COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
