PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a valve suitably used for high-temperature fluid. SOLUTION: The valve 2 to be used for high-temperature fluid includes a valve box 4 having a flow passage 22 of the fluid, a valve rod 8 supported by the valve box 4, and a valve element 6 located in the flow passage 22 and rotated with the valve rod 8 as the rotational axis to change the size of opening of the flow passage 22. The surface of the valve element 6 includes a pair of opposed end surfaces 61 and a side surface 62 located between the pair of end surfaces 61. The valve rod 8 extends through the side surface 62 of the valve element 6. A cooling passage 31 in which a cooling fluid flows is formed within the valve element 6. The cooling passage 31 includes a first passage along the side surface of the valve element and a second passage along the end surfaces. The first passage includes a minimum part where the sectional area in which the cooling fluid flows is minimized in the first passage and the second passage.
