<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress smoke generation and odors from foreign matter stuck to a heating means when a dishwasher is used for a long period of time. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The dishwasher includes: heating means 23 for heating the inside of a washing tub 18; temperature detection means 25 for detecting a temperature inside the washing tub; blowing means 33 for blowing air into the washing tub; control means 34 for successively controlling respective steps of washing, rinsing and drying; and state detection means 35 for detecting an operation progression state. When the state detection means detects a prescribed operation progression state, the control means lowers the temperature of the heating means from an initial value for a prescribed amount during a drying step.
