<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a demodulation output which is free of interference by removing interference components caused by adjacent stations above and below a desired station which are included in an IF signal of a radio receiver. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The radio receiver can generate an audio signal of the desired station free of interference caused by the adjacent stations by generating a USB and an LSB of the desired station and also generating a USB of the adjacent disturbing station above the desired station and an LSB of the adjacent disturbing station below the desired station by detecting the IF signal from a front end 3 by three synchronous detecting circuits 5, 25 and 35 after digital conversion, removing a component of the upper adjacent disturbing station included in the USB of the desired station by subtracting the USB of the upper adjacent disturbing station from the USB of the desired station, and removing a component of the lower adjacent disturbing station included in the LSB of the desired station by subtracting the LSB of the lower adjacent disturbing station from the LSB of the desired station.
