The piston cylinder assembly (1) has an external pipe and different mounting units (3a,3b,3c), e.g. base, holder, spring plate, fixing components or stabilizer holder. One of the mounting units is connected with the external pipe in a force-fit and form-fit manner. The mounting unit has a partly expanded inner diameter within the range of the cylindrical external pipe.
