METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING REFLECTIVE YARN AND REFLECTIVE YARN MANUFACTURED THEREBY

The present invention relates to a method for manufacturing reflective yarn and reflective yarn manufactured thereby. The present invention provides reflective yarn having a soft surface and maintaining reflective brightness by laminating a transparent film on the upper and lower parts of a reflective film, cutting the reflective film in the form of a cut thread, winding a cover film of a strand form around the surface of the reflective film spirally, and manufacturing the reflective film in a strand form. The present invention includes four general steps comprising: a preparation step (S1) of preparing a reflective film (10) with glass beads (11) therein, and a transparent film(20) and a cover film (30) which are both made of synthetic resin; a lamination step (S2) of laminating the transparent film(20) onto the top and bottom surfaces of the prepared reflective film (10); a cutting step (S3) of forming the laminated film in the form of a cut thread by cutting the laminated film lengthwise; and a covering step (S4) of winding the cover film (30) of a strand form spirally in order to cover the outer circumference of the cut thread entirely. The present invention manufactured by the steps prevents reflective brightness of the reflective film from being degraded and maintains the inherent reflective brightness thereof by making the transparent film laminated on the top and bottom surfaces of the reflective film and the cover film wound on the outer circumference thereof out of a transparent material. In addition, the present invention: is appropriate for multi-purpose uses including sewing, embroidery, and the like since the cut section of the reflective yarn completed by winding the cover film on the outer circumference of the reflective film is processed in a shape similar to a circle; and improves productivity through reduction of the needle exchange frequency by preventing abrasion of the needle hole through polishing of the reflective yarn's surface. Further more, the present invention improves strength and facilitates sewing by reinforcing the whole outer circumference of the reflective film using the transparent film and cover film which are made of synthetic resin.
