NEW PORCINE REPRODUCTIVE AND RESPIRATORY SYNDROME VIRUS RECEPTOR, AND BLOCKERS THEREOF

Provided is a novel porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome (PRRS) virus receptor, where the carboxy-terminal amino acid sequence of the protein comprises 23 amino acid residues shown in SEQ ID NO: 1. The PRRS virus receptor is useful for developing a drug for preventing and treating PRRS virus infection. Also provided are the receptor blockers for inhibiting PPRS virus infection of cells, which comprise nonmuscle myosin heavy chain (NMHC) H-A protein and its carboxy-terminal fragments, serum antibodies prepared by NMHC H-A or its carboxy-terminal fragments, and nonmuscle myosin II inhibitor-(+)-blebbistatin.
