<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cell assembly unit for use in a fuel cell, which is free from unreasonable stress added on an insulating member at assembly of the unit, at unit conveyance, or at handling of the unit on the way of assembly of the battery, and to provide the fuel cell with the same. <P>SOLUTION: The cell assembly unit 100 includes cell assemblies 110A and a retainer member 120 retaining the cell assemblies. The cell assemblies consisting of a plurality cells of the fuel cell 110 electrically connected to each other include two electric ends. The retainer member includes a plurality of retainer plates 121, 122, 125 and insulating members 141 for insulating between the cell assemblies and the retainer plates.
