<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem of an optical disk device that the determination result of a verifying operation for confirming whether or not information is recorded in a recording quality capable of correcting errors during reproduction depends on reproduction characteristics of an optical pickup. <P>SOLUTION: For example, in the set-up state of the optical disk device, error rate characteristics having no jitters are measured with respect to the position of a focus lens, a tilt angle, and the position of a collimator lens, and whether a value at a position away by a predetermined value from an optimal point is larger than a determination reference value to determine good/bad reproduction characteristics of an optical pickup. A strict condition is applied for an optical pickup excellent in reproduction characteristics, and a soft condition is applied for an optical pickup low in reproduction characteristics to make determination during verifying, thereby mitigating the problem that a determination result depends on optical pickup characteristics. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
