<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve power saving by controlling the power consumption state of external equipment managed by a cable or by radio by an electronic equipment body according to the detection result of a sensor part. <P>SOLUTION: The electronic equipment body 100 has the connection part of external equipment managed by a cable or by radio. An operation state control part 107a controls the operating state of the electronic equipment body by receiving an operation signal from an operation part 120. When a sensor part 108 which senses a peripheral environment does not obtain the detection output of user existence, a power saving state setting part 107b shifts the electronic equipment body and the external equipment to a power saving state.
